Carnegie's birthplace in Dunfermline (Scotland)

• When I went to the Carnegie Birthplace Museum (not far from Edinburgh) in Scotland, I noted the museum attempted to tell every good thing Carnegie contributed to this world, including the Peace Palace in the Hague, Netherlands.

  However, the museum does not say anything about the Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh (known these days as Carnegie Mellon University), which is one of the most important contributions Andrew Carnegie made. Indeed, this is what is wrong with this museum.

• In 2005, I was fortunate enough to spend one full day at the Kant museum in Kaliningrad (Russia). Kaliningrad was a German city called Koenigsberg until 1945. Kant was born in Koenigsberg, where he spent the entire 80 years of his life until his death.

  In 2012, I spent two hours at the Hegel museum in Stuttgart (Germany). Hegel was born there and spent his childhood years there. His house is now a museum called "Hegelhaus."

• At the Kant museum, they displayed some important books on Kant's philosophy, written in many different languages. However, I was not able to see any books written in English. There were many books in Japanese. In the academic world, how important is the Japanese language compared with English? There was (still may be) something wrong.

  However, I noted the same effect at the Hegel museum in Stuttgart. No books in English but many written in Japanese. I noticed two books written in Korean. It is understandable because Koreans share the same philosophical base with Japanese. I can read books written in Korean, but the academic significance of the Korean language is epsilonic compared with English.

  If both Kant and Hegel museums show the same unexpected effect, there is something to think about. The easiest answer to this question is the difference between the Continental approach and the Anglo-American approach to problems.

• Furthermore, this could explain why Einstein was not able to talk with Americans while in the United States. Einstein started out as a Kantianist, but became a Hegelianist while doing physics. In so doing, Einstein invented a new philosophy. Einstein combined both Kantianism and Hegelianism into Einsteinism. Click here to see Einstein's coordinate among the philosophers.

  In America, Thomas Edison was the best philosopher. Do a thing first, and then snow-ball it if it works. Last month, I talked about four great American philosophers from Pittsburgh. How about Bill Gates? He is also an American philosopher. Are you not tired of upgrading your computer hardware or software?

  What is my definition of the philosopher? According to Karl Marx, you have to change the world in order to become a true philosopher,

• This difference between Einsteinism and Americanism was recognized by physicists. We thus use the two words "birds" and "frogs" to tell the difference. I did not invent these words, and I do not know who did. Birds cannot talk or listen to frogs, vice versa. Einstein and Planck were birds, and most of us are frogs. On the other hand, physics cannot exist without frogs.

  Furthermore, it is wrong for those Kant and Hegel museums to say you cannot become a bird if you speak English. Even though he wrote his books in Latin, Isaac Newton spoke English when invented one differential equation for open and closed orbits. He was a Hegelianist. Mexwell spoke English, but he was still able to combine electricity and magnetism to create the present-day wireless world.

• As I mentioned above, there are so many Japanese books at those two museums. Does this mean that all Japanese physicists are birds? The answer is No, but let us look at Hideki Yukawa's background. He was able to read books on Taoism written in Chinese, and he did. Then what does this strange philosophy have to do with Kantianism, Hegelianism, or Einsteinism?
  1. According to Kant, many different things should converge into one "Ding-an-Sich."

  2. According to Hegel, a new thing can emerge from two contrasting events.

  3. According to Taoism, many different things can be placed into two contrasting groups which can co-exist harmoniously. According Bohr, the particle and wave natures of the matter can coexist. This is the foundation of quantum mechanics. Bohr was a Taoist according to his grandson.

  This means that Kant's original idea is largely correct. Things can first be collected into two contrasting groups, and then these two groups can either be converged into one "Ding-an-Sich," or can coexist in harmony, as illustrated in this figure. This is what Einsteinism is all about.

• While physicists can accurately illustrate Kant and Hegel, politicians made blunders in interpreting Kant and Hegel. Lenin's Proletarianism and Hitler's National Socialism are cases in point. I do not understand how those ideologies were formulated, but it is clear that they did not work. We do not have to worry about them even though the Hegel museum tells in detail how Lenin and Hitler were influenced by Hegel.

  However, there is one political system which can serve as an excellent illustration of Kant-Hegelianism. In the United States, there are two political parties. They collect opinions from the citizens into two groups. They then formulate one national policy in their congress. If this is not a representation of Kant and Hegel, what else is it?

• True, not everybody likes the United States, but it is generally agreed that Americans enjoy the best political system in the world. This is a photo of myself with a group government officials from Albania. I met them at the Charles de Gaulle Airport near Paris in 1999. They said they are going to Washington to study how the American government works.

  If the museum people could not mention physics or Einstein, it is understandable. On the other hand, it is wrong for the Hegel museum to ignore the American democracy while allocating so much wall space for Lenin and Hitler.

• Don't worry. I am not saying I am a bird here. I am a frog. I went to the Carnegie, Kant, Hegel museums because I was a frog. Frogs carry microscopes while birds carry telescopes. I am known for finding mistakes in the papers written by some famous people. If this is the case, I must have been carrying my microscope. Let us see how I did as a frog.
  1. In 1961, I published my first paper in the Physical Review Letters. There I say the papers published Anatoly Logunov and his co-authors are wrong. I was a graduate student then. Logunov had a distinguished career since then, and once served as the president of Moscow State University.

     Here is a photo of myself with Academician Logunov taken in 1999. He was then the director of the Institute of High Energy Physics in Protvino (South of Moscow). He was kind enough to invite me to one of the conference held there. He was interested in the Poincaré group.

  2. In 1965, I showed the paper by Dashen and Frautchi on the neutron-proton mass difference is wrong. I still maintain a webpage on this issue.

     In 1967, Jeffrey Chew published his paper in Phys. Rev. Lett. saying essentially what I said in 1965. This PRL paper serves as Chew's responsible conclusion of the bootstrap dynamics which he initiated.

  3. In 1982, while reading Wigner's 1939 paper in detail, I found a fuzzy area between his Eq.(92) and Eq.(93) with my microscope, but found out Steven Weinberg in 1964 started to tackle the problem. I then did enough study before approaching Wigner in 1985. I told this story many times before.
