Kaon Electroproduction Studies at CEBAF

I am collaborating on a set of experiments to study kaon electroproduction in Halls A and C at CEBAF . The experiments will isolate specific reaction channels via a separation of response functions in the exclusive p(e,e'K+)Y reaction. Current experimental knowledge is quite limited; by accessing the wide kinematical region available at CEBAF the models and the gKNY coupling constants can be better constrained. The differential cross section for single kaon production by virtual photons is given by
sig = sigT + epsilon*sigL + epsilon*sigTT*cos(2*phi) +
sqrt(2*epsilon*(epsilon+1))*sigLT*cos(phi)
where pji is the angle Hypernuclear physics is expected to be a major part of the CEBAF program. the Lambda-hypernucleus, a nuclear system with strangeness S = -1 in which in Hall A is Hall A spectrometers
