Homework will be assigned and completed online, using the WebAssign system.  You will be assigned a user ID and password when you register for the class.  Your user ID is determined using the email address that is recorded by the university; i.e. if your email address is johndoe@wam.umd.edu, then your user ID will be johndoe.  Your institution is "umd".  Your initial password will be your student ID number.  You may change your password after logging in.  You can log in at http://www.webassign.net/student.html.  There is an online guide to the WebAssign system here.  Some tips on using WebAssign for Physics 161 are located here.
